Kate spent over a decade working with medium to
large manufacturing companies, using engineering and quality management tools
to reduce costs and solve product problems. In 2013 she founded Meliora Cleaning Products, a soap-based cleaning products company. She scaled up product
manufacturing to keep pace with tripling sales year over year, and now manages
operations at the Chicago soap factory which makes half a million dollars in
product per year with only 2 dedicated production employees. She maintains a
Six Sigma Black Belt certification from ASQ and strives to use her
manufacturing knowledge to help artisan makers create better products with
fewer resources.
